RE:GROUP is proud to announce the award of two separate mining scopes with Austral Resources, with operations now underway at both Flying Horse Mine and Lady Annie Mine, marking a significant expansion of the company's Queensland footprint.


Following the successful completion of mining activities at Anthill Mine near Mount Isa, RE:GROUP has mobilised concurrently to both sites, delivering on two distinct contracts. The dual deployment reflects the scale and depth of capability RE:GROUP has developed through its long-standing partnership with Austral Resources.


The dual award sees RE:GROUP deploy 80 personnel across both operations, supported by a heavy fleet of 100-tonne dump trucks, excavators, dozers, and ancillary equipment, underpinning a sustained and growing Queensland presence for the company. Over the coming weeks, RE:GROUP will deploy further new 100-tonne dump trucks and assemble a purpose-built 200-tonne excavator on site to bolster the operation.


The scope across each site includes all on-site mining services, pit excavation and loading, fleet operations and pit management, integration with Austral's mine planning and production teams, and maintenance of RE:GROUP's in-pit mining fleet.


Managing Director Michael Still said the dual award is a landmark moment for the business.

RE:GROUP Awarded Integrated Mining and Haulage Contracts for Element 25's Butcherbird Expansion Project

RE:GROUP has been awarded the integrated mining and haulage contracts for Element 25's Butcherbird Expansion Project (BBX), located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The contracts see RE:GROUP appointed as the single contractor across both mining and haulage activities — delivering an end-to-end pit-to-port solution as Element 25 progresses toward 1.1 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of manganese concentrate production, targeting both traditional steel markets and feedstock for battery-grade high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) refining. A continuation of a long-term partnership RE:GROUP first worked alongside Element 25 at Butcherbird during the project's initial phase, delivering mining, haulage, tailings management, and civil works. The re-engagement for BBX extends that collaboration into the project's next and most significant phase. We are excited to be working alongside Element 25 and look forward to commencing our new long-term contract at Butcherbird once commissioning is complete." — Michael Still, Managing Director, RE:GROUP Scope of works Under the Mining Services Contract, RE:GROUP will deliver open pit mining services including ore extraction in accordance with Element 25's rolling mine plans, waste removal, and stockpiling operations. The Ore Haulage Services Agreement provides for the loading and transportation of ore from the Butcherbird site to the Utah Point port facility in Port Hedland — a core component of Element 25's pit-to-port supply chain. The integrated contract also covers on-site material handling, stockpile management, road transport logistics, and real-time fleet monitoring to support end-to-end operational visibility across the supply chain.

The RE:GROUP team has now extracted the final ore from the pit, marking the end of a highly productive phase of the project and the completion of operations at the site. Throughout the campaign, RE:GROUP worked closely with Austral Resources to deliver safe, efficient mining and operational support, helping facilitate the extraction of copper from the Anthill deposit. The project highlights the strength of RE:GROUP’s operational capability and the commitment of our people to delivering reliable outcomes in demanding mining environments. This project also marked an important milestone for RE:GROUP as one of the company’s first major projects delivered in Queensland. WA company sets roots in Mount Isa

Western Australian mine services company RE:GROUP is setting to significantly expand its presence in North-West Queensland. RE:GROUP has contracts with Austral Resources to deliver mining and haulage services at the Lady Annie project north of Mount Isa. Austral recently added the Rocklands operation about 17km north of Cloncurry to its balance sheet, having bought it from administrators. Austral imposed a two-year hiatus to operations to refurbish the crushing circuit and develop projects around the site for feedstock. RE:GROUP managing director Michael Still said they had established a good relationship with Austral at Lady Annie and would be up to providing services at Rocklands. RE:GROUP Managing Director Michael Still “I guess that’s the benefit of the partnership between us and Austral is we’re both the mining contractor and the bulk haulage contractor,” he said. “And the reason that that’s really important is that you’ve got two groups that are working really closely together. “Rocklands’ demands include the need for significant trucking and RE:GROUP is pretty innovative. “We’re already looking at ways to run quad road trains where we electrify the axles of the trailers and reduce fuel emissions in the trucks because we want to ensure that we’re minimising the impact on the environment. “It could be another 20 trucks on the road. Now 20 trucks is 60 jobs on a two-in-one roster day and night, and that’s significant just for one of the deposits.” RE:GROUP is currently delivering up to 750,000t a month via its 100t fleet offer and their ultra-quad road trains, running from pit to the Mount Kelly processing plant. Austral Resources’ work to develop common user process facilities reflected successful models used in Western Australia, Mr Still said. “We see it in Western Australia where it works really well,” he said. “We’ve got common user facilities that the government has put together from a port capacity perspective for bulk commodities. What that means is the juniors, the small guys, have a way to get their product to market. “If I translate that to what’s happening here in Queensland, particularly Mount Isa, and particularly with the Austral story, you’ve got them acquiring the Rocklands asset with their Lady Annie asset. “All of a sudden you’ve got two sites that can process both forms of copper within a couple hundred kilometres of each other. I think it’s quite exciting.” The partnership developed with Austral, which promoted safety and helped keep costs down, gave them confidence to invest more in Queensland, Mr Still said. “We’re ultimately responsible for making the call on what we invest as a business – its significant amounts worth of capital – and need to have the confidence to be repaid and quickly,” he said. “You can’t do that unless you’ve got a partner that you understand.
