The contract, awarded by Extension Iron Ore Pty Ltd, entrusts RE:GROUP with the full responsibility for both the development and operational delivery of the project. In partnership with Macro Mining Services Pty Ltd (MMS), a subsidiary of Macro Metals Limited (ASX: M4M), RE:GROUP will oversee the complete lifecycle of the mine, delivering high-quality services from the initial stages to full production.

Project Scope and Collaboration

Under the terms of the contract, RE:GROUP and our strategic partner Macro Mining Services (MMS) — a subsidiary of Macro Metals Limited (ASX: M4M) will take full charge of technical, developmental, and operational services, including securing all remaining project approvals, establishing the mine site, and managing the core operations such as drilling, blasting, mining, and haulage. Additionally, RE:GROUP will handle the delivery of saleable iron ore to the Utah Point Bulk Handling Facility in Port Hedland.


Macro Mining Services will provide exclusive technical services such as exploration, permitting, and mine planning. The two companies will collaborate on-site for establishment and operational works, with MMS exclusively managing the crushing and screening operations under a build-own-operate model.


Strategic Location and Project Potential

The Extension Iron Ore Project spans 27.6 km² and is ideally located near major mining hubs — just 2 km from BHP’s Yandi Operations and 20 km from Rio Tinto’s Yandicoogina site. With an Indicated Mineral Resource of 16.1 Mt at 54.2% Fe, the project shows promising upgrade potential, with test work indicating a possible increase in iron content to over 57% Fe through dry screening.

The site’s proximity to Port Hedland and RE:GROUP’s strategic logistics hub will provide substantial operational efficiencies, facilitating smoother stockpiling, haulage, and blending processes.

RE:GROUP Awarded Ore Mining Contract at Thunderbird Mineral Sands Mine, Now Fully Operational.

Western Australian mining contractor RE:GROUP has been awarded a 3 + 2 year ore mining contract at the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Mine, located in The Kimberley’s, and is now fully operational at the site with an 89-strong team on the ground. RE:GROUP has deployed a fleet of five D11 dozers, three excavators, and a 988K wheel loader to conduct all ore mining operations at Thunderbird. The scope covers direct-feed dozer push operations, a specialised methodology in which ore is pushed directly into the Dry Mining Unit (DMU), in close integration with Kimberley Mineral Sands' technical services team. The contract marks RE:GROUP's entry into direct-feed dozer push mineral sands mining, adding a new capability to the business's established portfolio of contract mining, bulk haulage, and civil services across Australia. From waste mining to ore mining — a partnership built on performance RE:GROUP's appointment to the ore mining scope at Thunderbird is the direct result of the performance demonstrated through its earlier waste mining contract at the site. Having integrated closely with the Kimberley Mineral Sands team on the ground, RE:GROUP earned the confidence of its client to take on the expanded ore mining scope, deploying its new fleet of D11 dozers to deliver the next phase of operations. RE:GROUP is proud to announce the award of two separate mining scopes with Austral Resources, with operations now underway at both Flying Horse Mine and Lady Annie Mine, marking a significant expansion of the company's Queensland footprint. Following the successful completion of mining activities at Anthill Mine near Mount Isa, RE:GROUP has mobilised concurrently to both sites, delivering on two distinct contracts. The dual deployment reflects the scale and depth of capability RE:GROUP has developed through its long-standing partnership with Austral Resources. The dual award sees RE:GROUP deploy 80 personnel across both operations, supported by a heavy fleet of 100-tonne dump trucks, excavators, dozers, and ancillary equipment, underpinning a sustained and growing Queensland presence for the company. Over the coming weeks, RE:GROUP will deploy further new 100-tonne dump trucks and assemble a purpose-built 200-tonne excavator on site to bolster the operation. The scope across each site includes all on-site mining services, pit excavation and loading, fleet operations and pit management, integration with Austral's mine planning and production teams, and maintenance of RE:GROUP's in-pit mining fleet. RE:GROUP Awarded Integrated Mining and Haulage Contracts for Element 25's Butcherbird Expansion Project

RE:GROUP has been awarded the integrated mining and haulage contracts for Element 25's Butcherbird Expansion Project (BBX), located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The contracts see RE:GROUP appointed as the single contractor across both mining and haulage activities — delivering an end-to-end pit-to-port solution as Element 25 progresses toward 1.1 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of manganese concentrate production, targeting both traditional steel markets and feedstock for battery-grade high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) refining. A continuation of a long-term partnership RE:GROUP first worked alongside Element 25 at Butcherbird during the project's initial phase, delivering mining, haulage, tailings management, and civil works. The re-engagement for BBX extends that collaboration into the project's next and most significant phase. The Ore Haulage Services Agreement provides for the loading and transportation of ore from the Butcherbird site to the Utah Point port facility in Port Hedland — a core component of Element 25's pit-to-port supply chain. The integrated contract also covers on-site material handling, stockpile management, road transport logistics, and real-time fleet monitoring to support end-to-end operational visibility across the supply chain.
